Re: wiki - files

Hi all,

for the records, sourceforge.net provides a managed mediawiki
( http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/Hosted%20Apps )
so if we moved from seul.org to sourceforge.net, we could be relieved of having to managing a wiki by our own.

could not this be easier ?

I had a look at mediawiki yesterday. It seems like the software

installed with a file-system-only option?

No, Mediawiki don't work without sql database.

The more known wikis with flat files are Dokuwiki and Pmwiki. Phpwiki also theorically, I can't make it run correctly, perhaps because of version.

If you want to see what can be pmwiki or dokuwiki with relooking:

http://wiki.metalforge.net/doku.php

IMHO, it's important that both are able to protect or limit page editing to registered users only. Spam in pages I retrieve is monstruous !

If it needs to modify a little the actual pages, I can, if you want.

Good week-end
