GMP problems

I installed gob 0.93.5 and GMP 3.0.1, when I run configure, I get a:

configure: error: GMP Library not found

looking at the archives, I saw that other people had the same problem
and it was with GMP 2.0.2

Has this been solved??? (GMP and gob where installed with the usual
./configure / make / make install / ldconfig)
