However if one optimizes too far for a FPA version this limits hardware mostly to one vender.I think what is needed is a generic F-CPU hardware ( and virtual cpu model ) for now. A good example (in software)is the fig-forth generic virtual machine, that could be ported to quickly to different 8/16 bit machines. It seems nowdays that a efficent virtual model is important than raw cpu speed since most code is running virtual rather than on real hardware.
