bzip2 is availöable as Source and you can compile it under gcc for dos.

Tzip is similar to bzip2 but with larger blocks.
Very cool was bzip (the thing before bzip2), it uses arithmetic
compression instead huffman, and compresses so 2-5 percent points smaller.
