For example, I read for one pdf I donwloaded :

Alpha 21164
    virtual index
    virtual tags (icache), physical tags (dcache)
    TLB in parallel
    write-back (dcache)

Pentium Pro
    virtual index
    physical tags (icache,dcache)
    TLB in parallel
    write-back (dcache)

UltraSparc 1
    virtual index
    virtual tags (icache), physical tags (dcache)
    TLB in parallel
    write-through,store compression (dcache)

It looks like they prefer the virtually-addressed cache with physical tags
for dcache.
