for 19C3, probably (it's in 2002). it's still a surprise.
for 18C3 (end 2001) i am not sure. i will do my best
but i can't predict what will happen to my money.
it's ironical, how things can be saddened because of money
(or lack thereof). At least, unlike other projects that
Lionel mentioned, my absence in Berlin will not be
because of the project's failure.

My presence there is not necessary for the project
to survive. I will miss that huge party and the
fireworks etc, and our help from the CCC has to
continue. i hope that the other
contributors will participate actively. I can't do
everything all the time ! i'm beyond every schedule
and i'm not proud of it, but if others don't help
or do things, it could cause the project to stall :-(

Concerning the 18C3 presentations,
it would be really cool if other "free hardware" projects
could come and present their stuff. it didn't work last
year, and Graham's presence would be a real bonus.
I was amazed by his presentation in Dortmund and i am
sure that he will teach the kids a lot of really neat things.

The message behind these posts is :
i've done a lot of work, i've spent a lot of money and time
for the project and i'm a bit tired currently. It's summer
and i need some nice, tireless vacation, find the sister
soul etc. Now i think it's a good time for others to do some
part of the "work", organise stuff, do some webmastering,
perform some promotion and all the circus. Some causes of my
"failure" to do everything is that
 - i'm a real beginner and i have almost no experience
in a lot of fields. ex: i have bought a domain name
for the first time for the project, i have registered
a brand for the first time, i have presented conferences etc...
it was "fun" and instructive but it's not my primary occupation.
 - i wanted to have everything perfect, so i wanted to make
everything, but weeks have only 7 days. the project couldn't
advance this way. i have learnt a lot, it's obvious, i have
started a lot of stuffs (the Utopia Computing webring, etc)
but i have not "achieved" much.

=> i have to go back to the "core" : the manual/documentation
and the VHDL writing. i will have to stick to that only, otherwise
i will never succeed in doing everything, and people are disapointed
when nothing gets done. I don't want anybody to be disapointed.

=> Someone will have to do all the planning, setup and update the
web sites and all the online tools (who'swho database, mantis...).

=> More people will have to speak out, in the list and in the press.
i can't keep up with everything, i'm way beyond the deadline
concerning the Oekonux paper for example.

For the rest, i guess that it will remain the same : a bit of
friendship, some crunchy flamewars about computer architecture,
and this mailing list. Step by step, we can advance.
