Thanks go to Susan for pointing this one out. I've added a footnote
to the anonymity chapter: (this is scary...except I'm not even scared
anymore. I guess I'd already been assuming it.)

Anonymity, when compared to pseudonymity, means that the agent 
performing the operation has no observable persistent characteristics.
