gEDA: New snapshot 20021220
I've not finished integrating Aubanel M's XML stuff, or
completed my colour selector but to give you all an idea
that *some* work is going on I'm making a new snapshot
release. 2.0.0pre1-20021220 can be found at:
ftp://ftp.cs.man.ac.uk/pub/amulet/gtkwave/snapshots/gtkwave-2.0.0pre1-20021220.tar.gz
I've finally got round to updating the README file in the
release.
Please note that this release is rather incomplete and is meant to
whet the appetite of users for a `proper' release I'll make in
mid January. Please don't send bug reports for major problems
with the release, I probably already know about them. *Do*
sent reports/suggestions for ticks and for ideas of where I can
go/which direction I should head in with the stuff I've added.
As this is the case, I haven't updated the latest-snapshot
link.
Of particular note are:
Change colours dialogue box on the Trace menu. (The selected
traces private colours option works, give it a go)
New XML trace save/load format (note that load doesn't yet work
and I *will* be changing the save format some more) to get an
idea of the future direction of config. file stuff
Analogue traces are now automatically added for .out files with
analogue traces. (Note that the analogue stuff has been in there
for some time under Edit->Display Format->Analog). Much more
work on making analogue traces better needs to be done!
The ability to choose to statically link in format readers at
build time (read README).
Yet more code cleaning/rearranging.
Features yet to add are too numerous to list here, but will include:
Better analogue support
Trace group and palette support in the colour stuff
XML saved traces actually working!
The old chestnuts of loading without a file/reloading.
Making sure the colour selection stuff behaves nicely on 8-bit
palettes.
Spring cleaning ;)
Happy Winterval
