You expect the poor end-user to do all that? This is precisely the job
of the distribution's developers. If the developers of the distribution
are doing their job badly, it's time to switch to another distribution.
If the end-user wanted do all that, they wouldn't need detailed
instructions.
Anyway, here is a simple analogy. You make aftermarket radios for
cars. Do you provide installation kits for a number of different cars,
or do you instruct the user to completely rebuild his car so that it
suits the radio?
