Oh cool. I will take a look at this and try to integrate it

I am a total newbie when it comes to i18n, so I set the following
environment variables:
export LANG=en_US
export LANGUAGE=pt_BR
That worked. If I tried setting my LANG to pt_BR, the Portuguese
messages do not show up. Is this normal behavior?
I like the changes, so I'll put them into CVS, but I don't know
how long it will take, certainly before the next release.
Also, I noticed you created a seperate system-gschemrc for
Portuguese. I think there is a way to put the menu item text into the
.po file(s) as well. That way there will be only one system-gschemrc
and all the messages will go into the .po file. (just checked; very
doable :-)

I will let the list know once I have gotten this integrated
into CVS.
