	Indeed this is what is happening.  libtool is created during
the ./configure stage.  If you change libtools/auto*tools , be sure to do a 
make maint or make maintainer-clean and then recreate everything.

	I haven't tried libtool 1.5 yet, I've been happy with 1.4.2 for
quite some time.
