A bigger advantage of libs is conservation of labor. Someone else is
maintaining and updating the libraries, and the application writer
can leave that to the library author and get on with his own travails.
Or at least that is the theory. The consequence of external dependencies
is that those dependencies must be met. Building gschem is largely a
job of trudging through the external cruft, and if every step isn't done
exactly right, you're stuck. Last time I tried to compile gschem, it
took a full day. qcad, in sharp contrast, compiled without any inter-
vention. (Type "make" and take a break:-)
