In addition to license problems SaX would probably mean major changes
in installation (different libs to begin with).  In addition in France
nation-wide Linux install party I had the occasion to use the one
shipped in Suse 5.3 and I found it was great when things go well but
it didn't let me to fix a problem with the monitor.
