[kidsgames] first_math
Hello,
I had started a little game using the ClanLib libraries to try to learn how those
work. It's supposed to be good for sprites and stuff, such as the Pingus game.
(which is a really nice game by the way)
I'm sorry to report that ClanLib is not very friendly. I can duplicate what's in
the tutorials, but beyond that, the documentation is very limited. So I'm trying
to do something , say move an object behind another one, and I don't even know
what function I'm supposed to use. And when you find it, it's hard to figure out
how to use the arguments.
Anyway, I put that aside for now and tried the Gtk instead. Much Better ! I was
able to create a little game in a couple of hours. Of course it's a lot less
fancy that my try at ClanLib, where I had flying penguins, but this one works !
It's not a very exciting game (just a math quizz), but I think it is a good
example of using Gtk.
If you want to try it: http://www.linuxforkids.com/first_math-0.0.1.tgz. The ftp
server is down, so I put it on the main http server.
chris.
