 I also don't know of anyone using FQDNs as hidden service targets, or of
 any interesting use cases for this. We could maybe ask the community more
 broadly to see if someone wants this feature, because I'm not a good
 person to simulate the HS community.

 teor's point that we only do a single DNS query probably disallows the
 more crazy use cases here like DNS round robin anyway.

 Assuming we can't think of something smart here, I think it does make
 sense to kill this "feature".

 Maybe we can try asking in the future #18018 mailing list about this? :/
