I'm using Tor Browser 6.5a1-hardened (verified PGP signature) without
modifications, security slider set to high. Simply opening the browser
(via tor-browser/start-tor-browser.desktop) mallocs about 250 MB of RAM
which jumps to over 600 MB of RAM when the "Welcome to Tor Browser" page
loads. If I let it sit idle on the welcome page, RAM usage climbs at
around 1 MB every 10 seconds. Hitting the refresh button grabs another ~10
MB of ram every few clicks. The behavior is similar on all other web
 pages.

When I use the stable 6.0.2 startup is much quicker and only uses around
140 MB of RAM. Hitting the refresh button multiple times can temporarily
increase RAM usage to around 155 MB but it seems to be freed periodically
 and never becomes unreasonable.

 I'm running debian (sid) gnu/linux 64-bit.
