Comment:

 This works for me.  I was able to add a SocksPort line to my torrc file,
 open Tor Browser, and then use the additional port.

 Make sure that Tor Browser and tor.real are not running when you edit the
 file:
   /Users/heywood/Library/Application Support/TorBrowser-Data/Tor/torrc

 If it is still not working, please attach your torrc file to this ticket.
