 Sorry but I can afford to put any more
 time into this.  Don't see any reason
 why it can't be reproduced by someone
 else with the current code.

 Won't post the link triggering the
 bug here, but there's nothing problematic
 about it for residents of liberal
 democracies.  Likewise, nothing
 troublesome appears in a
 strings -a of the core file, which
 naturally has comprehensive details
 of the state of the daemon when
 the failure occurred.

 Have gone back to 0.2.5.12 and plan
 on staying with at for some time.
