This is a script which needs to be edited each time a new TBB version
 comes out:
 https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorBOX/Dev/TWScript

It patches TBB so it works behind a transparent proxy without the user
 having to do anything.

This would be used for an update script for transparent proxy users
exactly so they don't run out of date versions as they would do now.

Especially when using the latest.txt file method there is absolutely no
risk in people not knowing what version they run, because the file itself
is useless except for script usage (and people writing scripts generally
know what they are doing) and the content of the file would have the exact
 version in it.
