 Hmm, shouldn't the script use `ulimit` to raise the file descriptor limit?
 At least Debian's init script calls `ulimit -n some-large-number`. If this
 is indeed missing, it would explain why your relay starts acting weirdly
 after a specific amount of connections have been established: It might
 simply be running out of file descriptors.
