 I am doing so because I need to patch for ipv6 link-local reasons (see my
 other ticket).

 Since I saw this strange behavior after patching, I compiled it without my
 patch to check if this strange thing is stills there and eliminate a side
 effect due to my patching.

 Unfortunately, I am observing the same strange behavior with an "unpatched
 fresh compile".
