 comments here's a plugin for Jekyll] that might be able to handle the
 comment requirement, however, it is in PHP (not sure if that is an
 issue?). If so, [https://github.com/ldesgrange/jekyll-static-comments here
 is a port of it in Ruby].

 Please let me know if there are other specifics I can research that might
 be helpful.
