HI, Mailyn,

I think you should go on your own and let anyone who can help chime in.   Don't wait.  I don't know how they see technology, but there are dyslexics in every country and your approach is likely to be more sustainable than most.

Ah . . . very interesting . . .

Much of my time these days is spent advocating on behalf of dyslexic children.  They are the ones who cannot  read (even though they are at all levels of intelligence).  Tomorrow I am keeping my profoundly dyslexic son, Sam, home from school and we are going to work on technology apps that can help him.  He is such a smart kid = I would like to see him develop some independence by using technology.

I look forward to reading other responses.  And I would help put something together with those interested to meet the deadline.

Hi David -- that's definitely interesting.  Also a Jan 31 deadline, don't know if you saw, under the Apply tab.   I'll be back in touch in next couple days re: the new thing we've been talking about.  Gotta go eat -- TTYL,

Perhaps a starting point for our own "materials" project; perhaps a side-track, but definitely of interest:

"The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), and World Vision (collectively referred to as the ?Founding Partners?) are seeking game-changing innovations with the potential to dramatically improve reading skills and low literacy rates among primary grade children.

"Through a multi-year initiative called All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development (ACR), the Founding Partners will collaborate to achieve the goal of global action to improve child literacy.

"While recognizing that there are many factors required to improve student learning outcomes in primary grade reading, the Founding Partners have established the All Children Reading Competition to focus on two needs that are both important and largely unmet in low- and lower- middle income countries: teaching and learning materials and education data."
