I know nothing about this. I'm forwarding it purely as an FYI. I hope it's of some use to someone.

The Miller Group, Inc. proudly introduces, Centre, a free, web-based,
open source student information system for public and private
elementary, middle, and high schools. Centre includes student
information screens, a scheduling component, a grade book, an
attendance module, an eligibility feature, and a staff directory. Built
using the PHP open source language, Centre can be modified extensively
to fit the unique needs of schools and districts of all grade levels.

And, the software is absolutely free! No more paying large sums for a
product that may or may not meet your needs. No more paying for
upgrades. No more paying for annual licenses. No more paying for
support that may or may not be helpful in solving your problems.

If you would like The Miller Group, Inc. to provide support to you, to
install the system at your site, to convert your data, and/or to train
your personnel, we can do that based on a fee structure we have
developed. However, the decision to employ us for any of these services
is entirely up to you. If you believe you have the qualified personnel
to perform these functions, then have them get to work and enjoy
Centre.

We have loaded a demonstration (“demo”) version of Centre on our web
site (http://www.miller-group.net), and you can download it or work
with it as you wish. The web location also explains open source
systems, the support opportunities we offer, a pricing schedule, and
much more.

Centre will be available for installation before schools begin their
fall semester.

If you should have any questions about Centre, please feel free to call
us at 217/789-4430 or email me at MichaelL@miller-group.net. In the
meantime, enjoy the demo and think how it might make the work of your
staff more efficient and accurate.
