[school-discuss] Educational Applications for Kids between 2-10

Hi,

A group of friends are in the process of creating a customised
distribution for playschools and the like aimed at kids between 2-10.
This will be a customisation of an existing distribution (Fedora or
Ubuntu perhaps) using Gnome as the primary Desktop Environment.

The showstopper that one runs into is that most of the edutainment games
in this category are based on KDE and associated libraries. One can
certainly check out gcompris or childsplay, but these are just few examples.

Is there an existing distribution that can be re-used through minor
customisation or perhaps a list of application which are predominantly
Gnome centric ?

The idea is to have a very experience rich (in multimedia) for the
little ones.

Looking forward to the responses

Warm regards
Sankarshan
