[school-discuss] TuxPaint & Scratch

For anyone who is using both TuxPaint and
Scratch in the same environment, here is
something to think about:

These two programs are among the favorites
of my youngest niece who uses our computer
a lot when she visits. (I've mentioned her
before on this list; she's eight years old
now.) She wanted to use things that she had
created in TuxPaint as objects in Scratch,
so I changed the TuxPaint "save" target to
a place in the Scratch directory. This makes
it much easier to import the TuxPaint images
as Scratch costumes or backgrounds.

Further editing of the images can be done
with Scratch's own graphics utility, of
course. Scratch's art program is not nearly
as powerful as TuxPaint, but its fine for
doing minor tweaking.
