[school-discuss] Remembering Michael Hart

Oh, my.  I didn't read the gutenberg.org page until I'd sent the link.  I was unaware that Michael Hart, founder and inventor of the e-book, died this week.  It's a sad day for those who believe in freedom of access to information, imho.  I had the pleasure to exchange a few brief e-mails with him when searching for a conference speaker.  He was selfless with his time and never tired of helping people to gain access to the tools of learning.  I'm sure there are some good obituaries to read. Probably controversial.  Remembering Michael Hart is well worth a few moments, in my opinion.

Best wishes,

David

http://www.khanacademy.org has  transcripts....    actually it appears they are always tweaking the transcripts and have added function for community lead translation to just about any language....

Hello, i recently switched to a swiss school who plans to massively
use tech in education.
Each student receives a tablet at school.

The students are not native english speakers but i'd like to use
educational videos as much as possible in my classes.

Do you know educational videos about k12 disciplines (science, geo,
math etc.) that hold their transcript in english with them. This will
let students read and listen at the same time.

Thank you in advance
