I had a quick look on the 'net and found this about your projector.

The meaty info: 15-40KHz horiz sync, 50-75Hz refresh rate.

If you still have problems, please get in touch with me directly --
plarf@moo.ca.  If that is the case, please forward me your XF86Config
file.  It would also be helpful to have an account on your computer 
(temporarily, of course) to tweak the file directly.

brighten your day -- your projector listed for $9995 in'94.
Presumably that's American dollars, too. Lucky guy, you!
