Hi all,

any ideas? The URL is
bridgecontest.usma.edu/
I guess the contest is limited to Windows students.

Mr. Truedale,

Thanks for your kind feedback and suggestion. Interesting. I've been
fielding zillions of inquiries about the lack of a MacIntosh version of
WPBD. But you're the first to ask about Linux.

WPBD is written in MS Visual Basic. (Is it possible that Bill Gates
would
sanction a product that converts a VB application to one that runs on a
principal competitors' operating system?) It's also important to note
that
WPBD makes extensive use of the Windows API graphics library -- a
component
of Windows, not of Visual Basic. I'd be amazed if there's a seamless
way to
port the thing over to Linux, but I'm willing to listen. For the
record, we
made similar inquiries about porting the software to the Mac OS, and the
answer was...laughter, followed by: "No way, but you can pay us a few
hundred thousand dollars and we'll write you a Mac version from
scratch."
Needless to say, that's why there is no Mac version.

Hello,

You have a great progream! I'm wondering if you've thought of porting it
to linux, which for cost, security, stability reasons is becoming more
and more popular in schools (and elsewhere). If you could let me know
what platform WPBD was written, I could try to put you in contact with
someone who could set up your program for use on linux boxes.
Thank-you,
Gordon Truedale
