[seul-edu] Proposal of project

Hi guys,

Recently I'm determined to get a job in the Uk, and I'm trying to practice
spoken English using 'Yahoo messenger voice chat room' technology, it's
a kind of IRC where you can speak using a microphone. As always, I'm
trying to reuse, find broad and general solution to particular problems.
The general problem is language learning, the lack of free utilities for
learning languages. Such free utilities would be excellent to promote our
vision of free basic services/programs. We're acostumed to enjoy free
programs that hold a complex logic and algorithms, in this case, the project
would be to capture and classify a basic data base of phrases, put them in
mp3 and them build a GUI around these code. Then, we could
convince mandrake to distribute it as well.

The steps would be this:

1.- People meet in Yahoo messenger voice chat room (either Linux, Windows)
2.- Someone has 'total recorder' ( I know it's Windows technology), and he
stores phrases, dialogs,...
3.- This guy converts them into mp3
4.- A GUI is built to reproduce and give an educational content to the
database of phrases, dialogs. <--- The application is done.
5.- The app would be fully GNU, that implies it can be distributed by
Debian, Red Hat, ... anyone
6.- Schools and general people have yet another reason to install/use Linux.

If we admit that GNU apps are generally much better than commercial ones,
such educative app would be absolute amazing.

P.S. : My windows system is broken ( not surpising) and neither total
recorder neither other apps work properly.
