For reference's sake (for seul-edu), 640x480x8bpp requires 307,200 bytes
per screen; 800x600x16bpp requires 960,000 bytes.  This is video ram,
not system ram.  Assuming the video card can generate those resolutions,
a 1 MB video card should be adequate for the resolutions we're talking
about, and a 512 KB card should be able to do 640x480x8bpp adequately.
