You might want to Give StarOffice a try.  The K-12 licensing is GREAT
(that puts it mildly).  We just got the PO out for it about a month ago
(we were using the personal addition, with permision, for the half year
we had until budget renewal).

It runs on:
Linux
Sun solaris X86
sun solaris sparc
OS/2
Win9x/NT
MacOS PPC

Cost for a K-12 Site license (all versions) is $295.10  This includes
upgrades, etc.  Also teachers can take it home and use it at home.
