Perhaps the French will become interested in SEUL's work too.

The French (at least some French) _are_ interested in SEUL's work.
Besides, the French do their part of the work in favor of free software in
education.
I should add that there have been valuable, contributing French members of SEUL and SEUL/edu virtually since their inception. Hilaire, Odile, Bruno, et. al., have done much to further the goals we all share.

On a slightly different note, Harry McGregor, Paul Nelson, all the other folks from Portland, and I are doing very well at the NECC conference we're currently attending. The awareness of Linux by the attendees here ranges from none at all, through mild recognition of the name, to "yes, we're already doing that at our school." We've made what I hope are some valuable contacts with educators and educational groups. Some of them may show up here and on Schoolforge in the coming days; please help us all make them feel welcome and excited about the possibilities of using Linux in educational settings!
