The RHA is prohibitively expensive on the small scale, but we are thinking
of trying to get it implemented on the state level.  With greater numbers
comes a lower price.  The other neat aspect is a cost recovery model where
every cert your students take partially pays for the next years annual fee.
I would like an open source Linux cert option like LPI, but I'm not sure
it'll have the general name recognition that Red Hat can provide.  The way I
see it, we need a corporate face on Linux that can be recognized in the
boardroom or by the non-IT interviewer...

I spoke to a sales rep from Red Hat and although he was interested in
the project, the cost was prohibitively high.  That is one of the
reasons why we are trying to find alternative ways of delivering
curriculum.  I have two teachers here who deliver the CISCO Networking
Academy course and who have agreed to attempt to deliver the Open Source
course alongside CISCO.  It should be interesting.
