 Hm. That isn't actually something we *did* in 0.2.4, so I can't really
 call doing anything like that a backport. It would be a new untested
 thing, which isn't such a good idea.

 I think the minimal thing that might fix it, if our theory above is right,
 would be a backport of 6905c1f60d2d0e658481df70fdcaa73251becacc alone.
