Not that I shop there, but I had to look something up. I have to do that
from time to time. It's broken for "quite some time", but I had no
 intention to look into it.

I'm currently using 2.1 with Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows 7 64bit, but the
 problem seems to be older.

 How to reproduce:
German interface and error message so would be if you understand that
Load qvc.de (JavaScript should be allowed to make it work)
Hover over any category you like (Technik, or anything else)
Select brand or sub-category by clicking on it
Have a look at a search results page that tells you it couldn't find
 anything
You may retry this with another category, but it will fail

You can disable the ruleset and retry. This is how it should work.

HTTPS everywhere doesn't allow to "inspect" a rule, right? Would you say
 it's a valid request? Then I add a ticket.

I suggest to disable the ruleset.
