 Well, I ran into the same problem and did a litte bit digging. Thought if
 anyone using arm might be helped with this solution:

 Changelog from 10/6/10 - version 1.3.7 (r23439) states:
 '''change: measuring by bits for transfer rates (config can set it back to
 bytes)'''

 Thus get the default config from e.g.
 https://gitweb.torproject.org/arm.git/blob/6682a3a352a7758e5da7b019a4c6492d5d2f66cc:/armrc.sample

 change "features.graph.bw.transferInBytes false" to "true"

 and put the "armrc" to ~/.arm/armrc

 Problem solved, arm is now displaying units in '''Bytes (B)Â'''and not in
 '''Bits (b)'''
