Comment:

 most of the dependencies for askbot are installed via apt-get.

 askbot wants to "pip install" lots more. A concern here is it does not do
 any checking for package validity or even validity of itself when
 downloading and installing software. Further, keeping the various python
 modules up to date apparently isn't covered through pip or anything else.

 I'm talking to someone about hosting askbot for us, customizing it for the
 look and feel we want, and letting them deal with the security issues in
 askbot. I realize the risks in using a 3rd party, but tor browser exists
 to mitigate most of the risks.
