Comment:

 Going to close this as "not a bug" ; the part of this where we echo the
 .onion address is likely to result in bad behavior.

 Like, if somebody does:
 {{{
 % bogus-app --socks4-proxy 127.0.0.1:9050 `tor-resolve $hostname`
 }}}
 then the altered behavior would cause them to try to resolve the .onion
 address over DNS.

 (If they have socks4a or socks5 with hostnames, they don't need to be
 using tor-resolve here.  Other options include torsocks, and
 automaphostsonresolve.)

 Please reopen if I'm wrong here or missing something important.
