 update,

 so, unfortunately, i'm not sure how it happened but i manually uninstalled
 all the Tor files from my macbook pro computer & thumb drive, reset the
 computer network settings, updated to Snow Leopard 10.6.6, ran disk
 warrior on the os hard drive & thumbdrive & used an ethernet cable instead
 of wifi, updated to the new Tor Button â Namoraka is now on the Tor
 Network! yippie! :)

 hopefully i won't screw it up again :p

 uninstalled via Tor pdf "Running the Tor client on Mac OS
 X"Âhttp://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-osx.html.enÂ-- but not all of
 these files were on my system:

 "If you're using a version of the Tor installer that doesn't come with the
 uninstall_tor_bundle script, you will need to manually delete the
 following:

 â       /Library/Tor â  /Library/Privoxy â      /usr/bin/tor â
 /usr/bin/tor_resolve â  /var/log/tor â  /usr/share/man/man1/tor.1 â
 /usr/share/man/man1/tor-resolve.1 â     /usr/share/man/man1/torify.1 â
 /Library/Receipts/Privoxy.pkg/ â        /Library/Receipts/privoxyconf.pkg/
 â    /Library/Receipts/Tor.pkg/ â    /Library/Receipts/torstartup.pkg/ â
 /Library/!StartupItems/Tor â    /Library/StartupItems/Privoxy"

 reinstalled Tor Browser & Vidalia -- works :)
