 All gentoo needs to push this out is a "tag" in the repo.  A tarball on an
 http/ftp site is even better, but just one singed tag for reference is
 sufficient.

 I don't like to put "live ebuilds" up, that is ebuilds that build against
 the current HEAD in the repo, because thats a moving target and you can't
 collect good bug reports.  What gets emerged today may not be the same as
 tomorrow.  Its hard to reproduce and isolate issues that way.

 However, I do like to put alpha versions up because our users always build
 from source and usually catch bugs for upstream.
