 I seriously question whether collecting analytics of any kind can be done
 anonymously, with "anonymously" defined by the Tor Project's formal
 specification.

 We've seen time after time--and from business after business--that
 supposedly "anonymous" analytics can be used to de-anonymize users.

 Once analytics of any kind exist, they could also be demanded by law
 enforcement and potentially could be used to facilitate traffic analysis.
 For some Tor users, this is an unacceptable risk.
