 Note this bug is present in all 0.2.6.x versions
 and evidently 0.2.5.x as well (though it never
 triggered here when running 0.2.5.12).

 You would be best served by building 0.2.6.9 + patch,
 building from mainline git 0.2.7.x, or by picking
 up 0.2.6.10 when it arrives.

 The connection flood you are experiencing is a
 separate issue, though it is triggering this
 one indirectly by inspiring the invocation
 of "new identity" (aka NEWNYM).
