 Yes, dpkg isn't supposed to manage stuff in home. The .deb should install
 to /usr/bin and so on like any other package.

 to start. Torbrowser includes tor and vidalia, so installing those two are
 redundant.

 When installing the forked/patched Firefox which we call TorBrowser (as
 opposed to TorBrowser*Bundle*) via apt-get the user is supposed to have
 root privs, take care of disk leakage (by using FDE) and install and
 configure Tor manually. This is not a request for a portable bundle that
 can be distributed via a .deb instead of a tar archive.
