As I understand it, both âdifferent thanâ and âdifferent fromâ are
acceptable there, although I prefer âdifferent fromâ (and didn't know that
âdifferent thanâ was valid at all until relatively recently).

But both messages are inaccurate -- subsequent connections ''will'' be
âdifferent fromâ the user's old connections, whether the user pushes the
âNew Identityâ button or not. What we mean is: âSubsequent connections
will not be linkable to your old connections.â

Except not really -- we don't even try to do something NEWNYM-ish to
Polipo or Firefox, and we can't tell other programs that the user has told
to connect through Tor to âuse a new identityâ.

I don't know how to convey what that button actually does accurately
without using the term âcircuitâ, and users are unlikely to understand
 that.
