 No, it was wrong conclusion. Stack protector present somehow (while flags
 for it commented out).
 But it's unrelated to strings. And strings related to random bytes, at
 least code that counts lengths of strings add constants that final length
 like it assume including random bytes.
 Gcc do not generate such stuff, at least I can't find anything.

 Some unknown code in tor.exe generated for unknown purpose.
