 The Nagios warning is implemented, and the better logging infrastructure
 is in place.  That means this ticket isn't blocking on anything anymore.
 Should we try the SMTPAppender first and then switch to using
 ScheduledExecutorService?  Would you be able to submit a patch for the
 former?
