Regarding the WA Constitution (Draft) located at

Suggestions for Computer Bank WA Constitution changes:

CHANGE
    (d) To form strategic alliances with Organisations or Associations which
have similar objectives. 
To:
    (d) To form strategic partnerships with Organisations or Associations
which have compatible objectives. 

REASON:

Organisations such as Anglicare or GSI may have wildly different objectives
to ours (ours tend to be computer related) - but they may also be
compatible.  Give that it is a legally binding document, we must be careful
as to language used.   Compatible is much better word than "similar".
Covers more ground.

Also, think "partnerships" is a better term than alliances (although I'm
possibly being picky - but the dangers from bad wording are too high not to
be IMHO).

2.2 The property and income of the Organisation shall be applied solely
towards the promotion of the objects of the Organisation and no part of that
property or income may be paid or otherwise distributed, directly or
indirectly, to members, except in good faith in the promotion of those
objects. 

TO:

DELETE

11.16 The term of office for Executive members shall be no more than three
(3) consecutive years in any one position. At the end of three (3) years a
member must
vacate the Executive Committee for twelve (12) months. The member may then
stand for re-election at the following A.G.M. 

REASON:

Unnecessary, and sets ourselves up to be in trouble if no-one else around to
do job at that time. I think maybe we should simply require elections every
12 months for executive members.  But allow them more often on occasion of
Executive Membeer dying, or resigning.

CHANGE

    (e) Seven (7) Committee members. 

TO

    (e) Up to 7 Committee members. 

In section 13.1 The Management Committee shall consist of; 

REASON:

Allows for flexibility - in case of lack of people able to perform job.
