Minutes to the Computerbank Australia Incorporated AGM December 2004 

Date: Friday, December 19th @ 7pm 

Location: irc.freenode.net

Role Call: Grant Diffey, Penni Diffey, Con Validas, Trish Fraser, Owen
Courtis, Dan Treacy, Kylie Davies, Rob Brittain, Steve Paynter, Nick
Hobden, Greg Follett, Shaun Branden, Alex Wallis, Romana Challans, and
Vic Koci. Late arrivals from Jan Smith, Tony Calenti, and Daniel Stone.

Apologies: Reuben Matene and David Lavender. 

Obs: Simeon Scott, Adam Jenkins

Welcome

Grant Diffey declared the meeting open at 7.10pm. 

Minutes of Previous AGM 

Dan Treacy motioned that the minutes be passed as an accurate
representation of the AGM held in 2002. Penni Diffey seconded. Carried
with 13 ayes and 3 abstentions. (NB: Grant declared 14 ayes in the irc
meeting – a count back reveals 13 votes on this motion)

Presidents Report

Grant referred people to the Presidents report on the Computerbank
website. 

Auditors/Treasurers Report

Con Validas moved that the auditors report (sent to the membership) be
accepted. Steve Paynter Seconded. Carried with 13 ayes and 3
abstentions.

Appointment of Auditor for 2004

After some discussion it was decided to defer the appointment of an
auditor until the next Committee meeting of Computerbank Australia Inc. 

Current Committee Stand Down

Trish Fraser assumed chair when the current committee stepped down.
Thanks were extended to the outgoing committee. 

Election of Office Bearers and Ordinary Committee

President nominations received from Con Validas and Dan Treacy. Con
elected to the role of President

Elections were not required for the positions associated with Vice
President, Secretary, or Treasurer as there was only one candidate for
each position. Steve Paynter appointed Vice President, Kylie Davies
appointed Secretary, and Nick Hobden appointed Treasurer. 

Ordinary members were nominated from the floor; Romana Challans
nominated Shaun Branden, Kylie Davies seconded. Nick Hobden nominated
Rob Brittain (Rob later withdrew), Kylie Davies seconded. Grant Diffey
nominated Romana Challans, Penni Diffey seconded. Penni Diffey nominated
Alex Wallis, seconded by Romana Challans (not clear really). Romana
Challans nominated Dan Treacy, Con Validas seconded. 

The ordinary members elected after the membership had voted were Romana
Challans and Alex Wallis. 

Welcome New Committee 

Trish Fraser welcomed the new committee and handed over to the new
President. Con advised the new committee that they would meet sometime
in January, details to be organised via the committee mailing list.  

The meeting was declared closed at 8.17pm.
