Thanks for the Glade tip. I didn't knew what is was but I'll download it
to play with it.

Yes maybe the preferences for the figure view could be the default
so that you could set them as you like them and then provide a way
of changing the individual figure.

About the expensive thing :
Agree with you. One of the reasons I don't like matlab is that it is very
expensive
specially the toolboxes even for EDUCATIONAL purposes. I mean I don't
mind if someone is charging 1,000.00 dlls for a piece of software when it is
sold to a company but educational software should not be expensive.
